Art Deco Inspired Ltd Edition McNally Guitars
A pair of matching Ltd edition guitars commissioned by and available exclusively from the Fellowship
of Acoustic’s (Netherlands) to mark their 20 th Anniversary as one of Europe’s destination guitar
stores.
These guitars have been almost 12 months in the planning, and 5 months in the making.
Having to navigate through CITES regulations in the first few months of Brexit added further time
and complexity to the project.
I worked with a designer friend, James Quilty of Rookery Design House, Belfast to come up with
these art deco inspired motifs that would reflect and enhance the headstock, bridge and overall
design of the guitar. We chose these shades of Pearl to stand in contrast to their background woods,
but in keeping with the overall colour palette of the instrument, being golden, chocolate, and black
throughout.
I think the reputation of Brazilian Rosewood lives up to hype in these guitars. Not only are they two
of the best looking I’ve ever made, but they are without doubt some of the best sounding I have ever
heard.
